Report:

Our Racing Squad was out in force with 8 Hansa 303’s in action. Launching our Sailability fleet amongst all the other centreboard sailors doing the same is quite the dance. Our volunteer RIB skippers and crew do an incredible job while keeping everyone safe.

One support boat tows them out from shore to hand over to another support boat anchored in position to assist with the centreboard and rigging.

With 6 singles and 2 doubles all vying for a good start position across a very narrow start line, our sailors were certainly challenged to be in optimum position for when the horn blew.

It’s a challenging race environment with staggered start times due to many centreboard classes racing out on the harbour at the same time.

For our Sailability sailors, not only do they get to sharpen their racing skills, but they also participate in an inclusive event that features both sailors with, and without, disability.

Lunch is a brief al fresco affair between races. Our sailors dock beside a support boat to pick up their lunch box, share a hot drink and chat about how the day is going.

After a quick bite they are racing again. Check out our Conrad Larsen (red sail) on the hunt and closing in on his prey from another centreboard class.

Can't spot the disability?

Me either.

All I see is a harbour full of sailing ability, fun and Sailability Smiles!

Congratulations Sailors and Volunteer Supporters. Great team work!

Ka kite ano,
